I have Blogger right now for my first, "experimental" (well, I am experimenting on it, hope it doesn't explode haha), blog. I hated it from since I was messing around with WordPress.com but now, it's actually not bad. I really need to learn how to edit it though.

I'm a newb and I like WordPress over Blogger. But I don't have monies yet to get my own WordPress site (self-hosted). I heard you can monetise through Blogger without paying though. That would be great for people like me, and is what ultimately made me use the latter.

I'm using a downloaded free template from somewhere and I don't really know how to edit this one. My site is at: Game and Tech Babbler!, and I don't know where to edit the preview image of the posts. That said, do you create a blog with an adequate background in CSS? I only know the simplest...

I've noticed that about auctioned domains. Is the price because they have essentially, made names for themselves before? I'm going to check what the features are of what I got.

Do you have to pay someone to get those services or is it something you can learn by yourself? Just curious, especially for the erm financially-challenged.

Does it matter where you get your domain? I just got one with GoDaddy and I think I paid around USD for the whole year. I'm curious what's the difference with those that are more expensive.

Oh, is that why most VPS hosting are cheap? I didn't know about this, thanks for the useful info. I guess the issue with this is that if you have a problem with the server, all the websites are affected. I'm not sure what else would be the advantages and disadvantages aside from price though.

I agree, Facebook and Twitter should be the two best social media websites. I also use LinkedIn and Google+. It's actually easier now to use all to get more traffic for your website so I say use all you can! Hehe.

My problem with the free templates though is that I want to edit it more but I'm having problems due to lack of knowledge on how to edit the html thing. I think I tried copy pasting codes once and it looked very ugly compared to what I've done with WordPress.

Yeah, I've read that somewhere that free domains should only be used if you want to experiment. I did it myself and in the end, they took it down and didn't really inform me why. In any case, I'm going to look at Google for paid domain.

It's very easy to use and it can look very pretty and professional. Plus, I've seen lots of good sites use it so doesn't that mean something? As for the others, it can probably be good if you know how to use it. I just don't have the time these days to try, sadly.

It actually depends on what you're willing to do. Free can be difficult but that depends on your phone. If it's one of the more popular ones, it should be easy, otherwise, better check for someone who has the technical know-how and experience to unlock your phone.

I think it's hard to make customisations on Blogger compared to WordPress although the first one is free even if you want to use it to make money. It does look old when I try to make a site on it again compared to WordPress. I wish they'd make it more newbie-friendly.
