Blogger, Typepad and Tumblr are huge blogging platforms after Wordpress. I must also mention Livejournal which is also a prominent blogging platform.

I can give you too many reason that I find Wordpress better above all other platforms. But the most important of them all is that wordpress blogs are easily to be found in search engine results. I hardly find any blogger blog or skyrock blog while searching or researching in my total experience.
