Need help dealing with online blackmail

I’m really stressed and need some advice. I made a mistake by trusting someone online, and now they’re threatening to expose personal info unless I pay them. I have no idea what to do—should I block them? Ignore them? I’m scared that anything I do might make things worse. If anyone has experience with this or knows the right steps to take, please help. I don’t want to make the wrong move and regret it later.

The first thing you should do is NOT pay them. Many blackmailers keep demanding more if you give in. Instead, document everything—screenshots, messages, any proof of their threats. Reporting them to the platform where they contacted you is a good step, and if the threats are serious, consider going to the authorities. There’s a really useful discussion on this exact issue here: https://www.babiesplusshop.com/foru...elp-assistance:-what-to-do-if-you’re-a-victim. It outlines what you need to do to stay safe and deal with the situation effectively.
