How many characters limits in & Meta Description tag?

Google generally truncates snippets ~300 characters (this limit increased in December 2017). Earlier limit was 150-160 characters. And also suggest you to give you targeted keywords in first line so user can easy catch the words and click on the link.

New Google's meta description length in 2018 is up to 920 pixels, which might allow for up to 158 characters. On mobile devices, the max limit is about 680 pixels and 120 characters.

Meta description length should be 150-160. earlier it was extended to 300 but now again its length is upto 160 characters

Google typically displays the first 50–60 characters of a title tag. If you keep your titles under 60 characters, our research suggests that you can expect about 90% of your titles to display properly.

Meta descriptions can be any length, but Google generally truncates snippets ~300 characters (this limit increased in December 2017). It's best to keep meta descriptions long enough that they're sufficiently descriptive, so we recommend descriptions between 50–300 characters.
