Value of 1 Pfennig German Coins

I recently found a bunch of old 1 Pfennig coins from Germany in my grandfather’s attic. Some of them are quite worn, while others look almost untouched. I have no idea if they’re worth anything or if they’re just common old coins with no real value. I’ve heard that certain years and mint marks can make a huge difference, but I’m struggling to find accurate sources that list their actual prices. Does anyone here know what I should be looking for? How do I figure out if any of these coins are rare or valuable?

I’ve looked into 1 Pfennig coins before, and their value varies a lot depending on the year, mint mark, and condition. Some are just worth face value, while others can sell for much more if they’re in great shape. A great resource to check specific coin details is https://coinstrail.com/catalog/germany/brd/circulating-1-pfennig/63527004c80828517e998419 This page provides pricing based on real sales data, and it breaks down values by coin grade. If you’re unsure how to grade your coins, comparing them to the images on that site can help. Also, keep an eye out for any rare mint marks—some editions were produced in smaller quantities and can be surprisingly valuable.
