various PSD template sites

Hey folks, I’ve been browsing through various PSD template sites lately, mainly out of curiosity and a bit of design interest (I’m into digital art), and I stumbled across fake ID templates. Now, before anyone jumps in—no, I’m not looking to commit any crimes 😅. But I have seen a few comments here and there from people who use these templates for personal projects, like art installations or even pranks (the harmless kind). It got me wondering: where’s the ethical line? Is it just about the intent, or do the tools themselves carry moral weight? Curious how you all feel about this.

That's a super interesting question, and honestly, it’s something that comes up more than people think, especially among creators and students. I actually used fake ID templates https://fakeidtemplates.org/ for a class project back in university where we had to design fictional documents for a dystopian government. The goal wasn’t to fool anyone, just to learn about document design, layering, and realism in Photoshop.
