Why a vacation away from the city is worth it

When I went away to a lake house without internet for a couple of days a couple of months ago, I realized how much my brain really gets tired of the city. It seemed like only two days, but it felt like a reboot. At first it was unusual: silence, just birds and the sound of trees. But then you just sit by the water and catch yourself that breathing became easier, thoughts calmer. Now I think I should do it regularly. Has anyone else noticed how much nature affects your inner state?

Yeah, I've had a similar experience. I live far away from megacities, and honestly - it has its own high. Especially when you get out into the woods or by the lake, everything seems to fall into place. I used to think it was boring without people and noise, but now it's the opposite - I enjoy it. By the way, I found a couple of useful ideas about such secluded places while life in Idaho . I think you might be interested in checking it out too. It's just about where you can go to really get away from the city.

Interesting topic. I'm forever between trips and things to do myself, but somehow I've started to notice that even a short walk in the park without headphones or phone helps to slow things down a bit. I guess there really is something to it. It's just that we rarely give ourselves pause.
