Are lift kits practical for daily truck use?

A coworker recently lifted his truck and says it handles rough roads much better now, but I’ve also heard people complain about ride comfort afterward. Made me curious whether suspension lift kits are actually worth it for everyday driving and not just off-road use.

A lot probably depends on how the truck is used every day rather than just the appearance of the lift itself. Drivers dealing with rough roads, snow, or heavier loads all the time might notice practical benefits that regular city driving wouldn’t really show as much.

Truck modifications usually feel very different depending on how the installation is handled and whether the suspension setup is adjusted properly afterward. I noticed this after helping with a pickup that was mainly used for commuting, hauling equipment, and occasional trips outside the city. Before the upgrade, the truck struggled on uneven roads and clearance became annoying during winter conditions. After researching a few options, we booked lift kit installation in Edmonton because the service included suspension adjustments and alignment checks instead of simply raising the truck height. The difference ended up being much better than expected for normal driving. Ground clearance improved noticeably, the truck felt more stable on rough roads, and daily driving still remained comfortable without the steering becoming unpredictable. It also handled heavier loads more confidently afterward, especially during longer highway trips and poor weather conditions.
