Do you think esports betting is becoming more interesting than traditional sports betting?

I've been following esports for quite a while, and one thing I've noticed is how much the betting scene around games like CS and Dota has changed.

A few years ago, many people treated esports betting as something experimental, but now the ecosystem looks much more mature. There are professional teams, detailed statistics, live markets, and a community that understands the games on a much deeper level.

What I find interesting is that esports can sometimes feel different from traditional sports because knowledge of the game itself matters so much.

For example:
  • Understanding team playstyles.
  • Knowing player form and recent performance.
  • Following roster changes.
  • Watching how teams adapt during tournaments.
  • Understanding map pools and strategies.
At the same time, there are new challenges. Esports has its own risks, from unpredictable updates to changing team dynamics.

I recently came across https://medium.com/@LeePNash/i-grew-up-queuing-cs-and-dota-heres-how-i-bet-on-them-with-crypto-in-2026-bc319af4415b about approaching CS and Dota betting with crypto and how someone who grew up playing these games looks at esports wagering today.

I'm curious what others think:

Do you see esports betting becoming as big as traditional sports betting, or will it always stay a niche market?
