Hi everyone,
I’ve been looking into how search behavior is changing now that more people are using ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, and other AI tools to compare products and discover brands.
Traditional SEO tools are still useful, but they mainly focus on Google rankings, backlinks, keywords, and organic traffic. The problem is that a growing number of users are no longer only searching with keywords. They are asking AI questions like:
- What is the best tool for this use case?
- Which brands should I compare?
- What companies are trusted in this category?
- What are the pros and cons of each option?
That creates a new challenge for marketers and SEO teams: how do we know whether a brand is actually appearing inside AI-generated answers?
I’m working on this problem with gptmelo, an AI search visibility and GEO audit tool: gptmelo
The idea is to help brands check how they show up across AI answers, which competitors are being mentioned instead, and what content gaps might be preventing them from being recommended.
I’m curious how others here are approaching this.
Are you already tracking visibility in AI search tools?
Do you think GEO will become part of regular SEO workflows?
And what signals do you think AI tools rely on most when deciding which brands to mention?
Would love to hear how other SEO and marketing teams are thinking about this.
