How Do You Build Topical Authority in a Competitive Niche?

Hi everyone,

I'm currently working on growing The Hop Guild, a website focused on fruit purees, juice concentrates, and ingredients for breweries, wineries, cider makers, and other beverage producers.

One topic I keep hearing about is topical authority. Many SEO experts suggest creating comprehensive content around a niche rather than targeting isolated keywords, but I'm curious about what actually works in practice.

For those who have successfully built authority in a competitive niche, what strategies made the biggest difference? Did you focus on publishing more content, building backlinks, creating topic clusters, improving internal linking, or something else?

I'd love to hear real-world experiences and recommendations, especially from people managing niche eCommerce or B2B websites.

Thanks in advance for your insights!
