How many type of Sitemap

Basically, there are two types of sitemap, which widely used -

XML Sitemap - XML Sitemap like a blueprint for your house and each web page were a room.
XML Sitemaps are important for SEO because they make it easier for Google to find your site’s pages—this is important because Google ranks web PAGES not just websites.

HTML sitemaps - HTML sitemaps help a visitor to easily find the web pages in your website. It includes each and every page of your website. You can create it in HTML language or made it done with your developer. And remember to make sure that it contains all your main web pages/categories with about us contact us pages as well for an example.
 
HTML sitemap is a plain text sitemap used by browsers to know and surf through your website pages. XML sitemap is a coded sitemap used to submit in webmaster tool to help spiders crawl them and index the webpages in search engines.
 
There are two types of Sitemap which can be categorized as

1. HTML and
2. XML

HTML sitemap is written in hypertext Markup Language and it is basically created for users to find out different webpages of a website and its resources whereas XML sitemap is written in extensible markup language and it is basically a language which contains the information of an object in an organized and pre-defined format. It is not for user. Search engines can understand what is written and what it is the purpose of writing it.

XML sitemap can be further categorized into few types. They are

1. Index Sitemap
2. URL Sitemap

URL sitemaps is further divided into three types:
a. Sitemaps for Website
b. Sitemaps for Videos
c. Sitemaps for Images
 
Mainly two types of site map one is search engine and other user name HTML site map and XML site map.
