Yes you change xml site map but Google webmaster tools is very important for website.

If you already had a sitemap, why do you need to resubmit it? The sitemap is updated automatically.

Submitting your Google Site's sitemap to Google Search Console
On your Search Console home page, select your site.
In the left sidebar, click Site configuration and then Sitemaps.
Click the Add/Test Sitemap button in the top right.
Enter /system/feeds/sitemap into the text box that appears.
Click Submit Sitemap.

Select the existing submitted sitemap by clicking on check box on the left...
and then click on re-submit or you can delete the existing sitemap and then submit it again..

You can delete the already submitted sitemap (old) then submit your new sitemap by using Google Webmaster Tool.
