I've got a 2011 BMW 335i with hydraulic power steering, and every now and then, maybe once or twice a week, the steering feels really heavy at low speeds like when I'm parking. Then later it'll be fine again, light and normal. The fluid level is full and I don't hear any whining from the pump. No leaks that I can see. A friend said it could be the steering rack's internal valving sticking, or possibly the pump is starting to fail intermittently. I've been looking for elite steering care abu dhabi shops that can properly diagnose hydraulic steering issues rather than just suggesting a pump or rack replacement by guessing. Has anyone here had intermittent heavy steering that turned out to be something simple like a clogged filter screen in the reservoir? Or am I looking at an expensive repair? Car has 170k km and the steering components are all original as far as I know. Any advice on what to check first would be great. Thanks.
