Saving the Orchard's Heartbeat

My grandfather’s orchard was failing; the silence was deafening. Without pollinators, the blossoms just withered. I knew I had to help, but simply planting flowers wasn't enough. The solution required a deeper commitment to the ecosystem's heart. I started by protecting queen bees and colonies, building safe havens from pesticides and harsh weather. I nurtured the matriarchs, understanding that a safe queen means a thriving colony. This spring, the hum returned. The trees are heavy with fruit, a direct result of safeguarding those small, vital sovereigns. Their survival ensured the orchard’s revival.
