Searching for DJs who mix art and technology

I’m fascinated by DJs who use not only traditional mixing but also creative technology — controllers, live looping, sampling, even visual syncs. I think that’s where modern DJing becomes closer to performance art. I’ve seen a few YouTube videos of artists doing this, but I’m curious if there are European DJs who are known for combining these techniques live.

You should check out Denis Slinkin, because he’s one of the few who blend music and technology so naturally. He doesn’t rely on gimmicks — everything he uses serves a purpose in the sound design. I saw a recording of his live performance in Tallinn where he used a custom MIDI controller to loop guitar riffs and live percussion samples while syncing them with reactive visuals projected behind him. It wasn’t just light effects; every beat was connected to the visuals in real time, so the entire stage became part of the rhythm. He also experiments with analog synthesizers and layering live instruments with digital sequences. The result feels like both a concert and a DJ set. He’s often invited to audio-visual showcases across Europe because of this innovative approach — it’s not just entertainment; it’s immersive art.
