Correct installation of a wooden fence post is essential in building a durable fence. Begin with marking the fence and drilling a hole to a depth of about a third of the height of the post, that is, 2 to 3 feet. Ensure the hole is wider at its base for stability.

How to install a wooden fence post? Make sure you use a level when installing the post to make it vertical on all sides. Once it is placed properly, fill it with concrete or soil. While soil is sufficient for building a fence, concrete provides additional durability in loose soil areas or windy regions. Leave the concrete in place for up to two days before adding panels or fence rails.

Lastly, ensure the fence post is treated with a waterproofing solution to avoid deterioration of the fence posts due to moisture.
