What are the benefits of doorway pages?

Doorway pages show some actual benefits when it comes to websites based on Flash and JavaScript. Google cannot read texts on such websites. Doorway pages can be created in this case which contain the same contents as the actual website and that are readable by the search engines. The website can now be indexed.

Doorway pages are often misused, however, often in connection with redirections. These pages are optimized for certain keywords and often include keyword spam or spamming and similar methods. A doorway page will appear on the Google index and is meant to make visitors curious and lure them to the page. In fact, however, visitors won’t get to see the indexed page at all, because the site operators installed a redirect to the home page. The doorway page is skipped and is never displayed to users. It is therefore only visible to the search engine.

Doorway pages are created to do well for particular phrases. They are also known as portal pages, jump pages, gateway pages, entry pages, and by other names as well. Doorway pages can be ideal for addressing particular aspects of software. For example, if the application in question is a network messaging tool, there might be a page detailing the security risks of using a web-based messaging tool versus a network messaging solution. Another page might address the benefits of using internal messaging over email. A third might compare the product in question with ICQ, Messenger and so on. In general, we create a very small number of these pages, each covering a very distinct and separate topic, and each built around two or three very specific keywords.

Doorways are sites or pages created to rank highly for specific search queries. They are bad for users because they can lead to multiple similar pages in user search results, where each result ends up taking the user to essentially the same destination. They can also lead users to intermediate pages that are not as useful as the final destination.

Entry webpages are websites that are created for spamdexing. This is for bombarding the catalog of search engines by placing results for particular words with the reason of delivering guests to a different page.
