400- 500 words are not at all good for your article. Check all the blog post which are ranked on the first page of google. You will find most of the articles are 2000 words minimum. You need to always write good articles in details. A well written article is always 1500 - 2000 words which ranked great on the first page of google.

Those days are gone when we use to rank article on first page with just 500 words. Check all top bloggers content. All of them are more than 2000 words.
