Well....

1) Article Directory - I love submitting to article directories with actual/regular readers. You can be sure that people do read your content. I don't want to submit articles just for the sake of creating a backlink. I want that traffic too.

2) Social Media Posting - real time, your followers can be directed to your site, you can put hashtags to attract more potential readers, people can repost or retweet your share.

3) Blog commenting - exclusive to good/quality blogs only... I can build backlinks from different blog site domains. You won't be limited to building to one domain only. For example, in social media or bookmarking, you'd be working on the same domain/s over and over, but you can post blog comments in various kinds of topics in different sorts of domains. You get more backlink from unique sources.
 
My top 3 choice would be :

1) Guest Posting (high quality articles on authority domain would lead hell lot of traffic to your website and also enable you to create brand identity)
2) Forum Marketing (good option if to diversify your backlinks)
