A impresion means when a url ad or image is shown. Are you talking about your site or others on your website.
Google says Only clicks or impressions that eventually lead out of the search results page can log clicks or impressions. Click work better if your advertising something like cheap kvm vps and image impressions work better for site owner who sows them to get paid. before images shown where impressions so you paid for them like banner or image ads for so many times being shown now they seem to mean when somone clicks on the link to go to your site.
