What the ADX-201 Exam Teaches About Salesforce Configuration?

Just wanted to drop in and share my experience with the ADX-201 exam, officially called Salesforce Certified Administrator – Essentials for New Lightning Experience Administrators. Before I took it, I assumed it was mostly about basic navigation in Salesforce, but it turned out to be heavily focused on configuration, and in the best way.

This exam really teaches you how to set up a Salesforce org that actually works for users. I learned how to manage user access, create custom fields, build record types, and set up page layouts that made sense for each team. It dives into stuff like automating processes with Flow and Process Builder, and customizing the interface using Lightning App Builder. It’s the kind of hands-on knowledge that goes beyond theory, you’re basically learning how to make Salesforce smarter and more efficient for real-world use.

When it came to preparing, Pass4Future was super helpful. Their ADX-201 practice questions were way more in line with the actual exam than anything I found for free. I used their web-based practice tests and PDF version, and both made it easier to understand the kind of configuration scenarios that show up on the real thing.

If you're planning to take this certification, it’s 100% worth the effort. Not just for passing the exam, but for truly understanding how to configure and run Salesforce like a pro.

Let me know if you're preparing too, happy to share tips!
