When is it time to redesign your company logo?

Lately I’ve been wondering if my company logo is starting to feel a bit outdated. When I launched my small coffee subscription business about five years ago, I designed the logo myself using a simple online tool. At the time it worked fine and honestly I was just trying to get the business off the ground. But now the company has grown, we’ve added new products, and I’m starting to notice that our branding doesn’t really reflect what we do anymore. A few customers even mentioned that the logo looks more like a hobby project than a real brand. So I’m curious — how do you know when it’s actually time to redesign your company logo? Is it something you do every few years, or only when the brand changes a lot?

That situation sounds really familiar. I went through something similar with my online store last year. At first I thought redesigning the logo would be unnecessary, but once the business started growing it became clear that the old design didn’t represent the brand anymore. One thing that helped me was reading about choosing a logo designer and understanding current trends, especially things like eco-friendly branding. I remember finding this article that explained how brands are using greener visual identities in modern markets. It gave me a better idea of how logos evolve with brand values. After updating my logo, the whole brand suddenly felt more consistent across the website and packaging.

Reading this thread actually reminded me how interesting branding can be. I don’t run a business myself, but I work in printing and we see tons of different company logos come through every week. Some of them are super modern and minimal, while others look like they were made in the early 2000s. It’s funny how you can often tell the “age” of a design just by the fonts and colors. Even outside of business, design trends change so quickly. Sometimes a small tweak in layout or typography can make something feel completely fresh again. So discussions like this are pretty cool to read from the outside perspective.
